How to grow after redesign

Transferring a website to JavaScript technology, changing the URL, deleting a whole block of pages that provide local traffic. Each of these points separately is a significant risk from an SEO point of view. Our partners from the Atlanta real estate agency encountered all of them and even more during the website redesign. But together we managed to quickly restore and then increase organic traffic indicators. In the case we will tell you exactly how.

Project: atlanta.ua

Promotion period: July 2023 – October 2024 (we continue to work).

Region: Ukraine.

Service: SEO .

Project team: Alexey Chizh, Upper list to data Middle SEO Specialist; Olesya Polikha, Veronika Topchan, Alexander Malukalo, SEO Specialists; Anna Solovieva, SEO Team Lead; Solomiya Artishko, Project Manager.

Who is our partner?

The Atlanta real estate agency has been best phoenix social media agencies on the market for 23 years, has 30+ offices in Ukraine, and more than 600 employees. It is represented in five regions: Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv, Chernivtsi and Vinnytsia. The agency’s specialists help Ukrainians with the search or sale, rent of both residential and commercial real estate.

Promotion goals

To develop the business, the partner decided to update his website. We are talking about a redesign, which includes, in addition to the updated visual:

  • change of website technology, now it runs on JavaScript;
  • complete change of layout and arrangement of elements on pages;
  • URL replacement;
  • Removing landing pages for several cities.

Each of these points could have negatively affected the site’s visibility in search results as a whole, and the last one meant a loss of traffic from several cities.

Our goal was to minimize the risks during the move and then ensure growth in search traffic.

Team Actions

We started full-scale work after the austria business directory redesign/movement. First of all, we conducted an audit of the site on the main points. Its goal is to restore traffic as quickly as possible and return positive dynamics.

What is included in our technical audit:

  1. Setting up 301 redirects from old pages to new ones. Also setting up basic redirect types, such as without www / with www; without slash / with slash at the end of URL and others.
  2. A complete list of tasks related to scanning and indexing a site .
  3. Image optimization .
  4. Implementation of various types of micro-markup .
  5. Controlling the transfer of text content after moving .
  6. Checking and finalizing the Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics settings for the new site.
  7. Control over the formation of all necessary pages . It was important that the URLs that brought traffic to the old site could bring traffic to the new one.
  8. Optimizing loading speed on desktop and mobile devices.
  9. Control over the settings of content rendering by search robots, since the new site is developed in JavaScript. And this means certain difficulties from the SEO point of view, because it is more difficult and longer for search bots to scan such resources.
  10. Setting up title, h1, description templates for website pages.
